| The Process of Reiki Attunement The student becomes a Vessel or Channel for the Reiki energy. The healing is done by the Universal life-force energy. It is directed by the universal intelligence and it knows where and what to heal. Lizzie feels that: However, the energy may be further enhanced when the student practises some other forms of "Qi" exercises like Qi Gong or Tai Chi..etc... and also practises it well with the 5 Reiki principles, Meditate regularly, as all these supplimentary methods not only enhances the overall personal "Qi" of the student but it just multiplies in the vibrancy of the Student's Aura which also compliments the Reiki energy very well. Because of the oral tradition and secrecy that surrounded traditional Reiki teaching, the Attunement process can vary from Reiki Master to Reiki Master. The same goes for the symbols used in the Attunement. This however, does not affect the Attunement. The Reiki Attunement is very straight forward and only takes a few minutes. The student sits on a chair with the feet flat on the floor and with the hands in front and palms together. Some may or may not have very interesting experiences during the attunement which is subjective to the individual . There is no right or wrong as either way is normal. It is important to remember that we are dealing with an Energy directly connected to the Universe with an " intelligence " far beyond our comprehension, so your Reiki Master is probably more guided by intuition than strict procedural guidelines. Reiki is attracting a lot of people, more and more are being attuned to become Reiki Masters and some of them are integrating other healing methods with their Reiki healing.
